The Horned Frogs Against the Cougars
BYU leads the all-time series eight games to three, and the Cougars have won the last five contests.
Neil Dougherty is 0-4 all time vs. the Cougars.
TCU is 0-2 against BYU in neutral site games, which includes a meeting at the Thomas & Mack Center in the 1999 Western Athletic Conference Tournament. BYU won that quarterfinal contest 90-74.
The 11-game series has featured three winning streaks of at least three games. BYU won the first three games, TCU claimed the middle three meetings and the Cougars have won the past five.
No game in the series has been determined by fewer than nine points.
The average margin of victory in the series is 15.3 points.
The First Meeting This Season
BYU shot lights out in an 89-64 victory in Provo on January 10.
The Cougars drained 14 3-pointers and shot nearly 60 percent from the floor.
TCU trailed 48-23 at halftime before being outscored by just one, 41-40, in the second stanza.
It was the first conference loss of the season for the Frogs, who began the MWC slate 2-0.
The Second Meeting This Season
A late first-half run was enough for the BYU Cougars to topple the TCU Horned Frogs, 85-72.
TCU trailed by just two, 24-22, with 8:33 remaining before halftime until a 15-2 Cougar run over the next seven minutes broke the game open.
Kevin Langford scored a career-best 22 points, while senior Femi Ibikunle had a career-high 13.
BYU shot 61.5 percent from the floor against TCU after netting 59.3 percent of its shots in the earlier meeting between the schools this season.
TCU Individuals vs. BYU
Kevin Langford has averaged 20.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in the two games against BYU this season. He had 22 points on Feb. 10 in the most recent contest.
Brent Hackett has averaged 8.0 points per game in four previous meetings with the Cougars.
Femi Ibikunle has scored 9.0 points per game in this year's meetings
The Eight vs. the One
TCU is attempting to become the second No. 8 seed ever to knock off a No. 1 seed in the MWC Tournament.
The lone eight seed in the seven previous years of the tournament to upend the top seed was Colorado State, who defeated Air Force in 2004.
Buckling Down
The TCU defense has picked it up in the past four contests, holding Air Force, Wyoming, San Diego State and New Mexico to just 38.0 percent shooting (81-for-213). Included in that total is a paltry 26-for-96 (.271) mark from 3-point range.
