March 6, 2006
FT. WORTH, Texas - Guard Nile Murry has been named to the 2006 All-Mountain West Conference Basketball Team as a third-team selection, announced by the league office today. The honor is a career first for the senior. The 6-foot-4 guard has scored in double figures in 26 games this year, pacing the Frogs in 18 of those 26 contests. A native of Houston, Texas, he leads the team in points with 16.3 per outing. He has started all 30 games this season, and ranks third among the team in rebounds (4.3). Murry has been ranked in as many as seven of the 12 MWC statistical categories throughout the 2005-06 campaign. He was the lone Horned Frog picked to the 15-member all-conference team. BYU head coach Dave Rose captured Coach of the Year honors, while Brandon Heath of San Diego State was selected as the Player of the Year. Freshman of the Year honors went to Trent Plaisted of BYU, while Wyoming's Justin Williams was named Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year. The league's nine men's head coaches along with selected media picked the all-conference teams, as well as the coach, player, freshman and defensive awards. 2006 All-Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Team
