The Earlier Meeting Between TCU and New Mexico
The TCU Horned Frogs suffocated New Mexico, holding the league's second-highest scoring offense more than 20 points below its season average.
TCU's win made the Horned Frogs 1-0 for the first time in league play since 2001.
TCU trailed 33-28 at halftime, but the Frogs scored the first 14 points out of the break to surge to a 42-33 lead and never looked back.
Brent Hackett scored 20 points to lead TCU.
A TCU Win Would...
Give the Horned Frogs their third league victory of the season, surpassing last year's total.
Snap the Frogs' season-long 10-game losing streak and five-game road losing skid.
Complete a season sweep of New Mexico and give the Horned Frogs their first-ever MWC season sweep.
Score Limit 70
TCU is 9-3 when limiting opponents to 69 points or less this year and 1-11 when opponents score at least 70 points.
The Frogs are 4-2 when reaching 70 points on the board and 6-12 when failing to do so.
After holding 10 consecutive opponents to 70 points or less (for the first time since the 1986-87 season), nine of TCU's last 10 foes have reached the 70-point mark.
Opponents have averaged 76.0 points per game over the last 11 games after scoring just 60.2 over the first 13 games.
Three straight opponents have topped the 80-point plateau after just two of TCU's first 21 opponents reached that mark.
