Men's Basketball Falls to Rice, 76-72
HOUSTON (AP) - Mike Wilks scored 23 points to lead Rice past TCU 76-72 on Saturday.
Rice (12-10, 4-6 WAC) went into halftime down 47-39, but clamped down on TCU's offense in the second half to push ahead.
TCU (16-8, 5-4) shot just 5-of-23 - 22 percent - from the field in the second half after shooting nearly 49 percent before halftime.
Rice also outrebounded TCU 41-28.
The game also featured 50 fouls, including three technicals, and 38 turnovers.
Erik Cooper chipped in 22 points and six rebounds for Rice.
TCU was led by Thomas McTyer's 15 points, most of which came on a 10-for-10 performance from the free-throw line. Greedy Daniels and Marlon Dumont
each added 11 points.
