TCU Basketball Magazine set to begin Thursday at 29 Degree Tavern
Jan. 9, 2008
The TCU Basketball Magazine with head coaches Neil Dougherty and Jeff Mittie will debut on Thursday (Jan. 10) at 29 Degree Tavern beginning at 7:00 p.m. with Brian Estridge set to host the hour-long radio show. The TCU Basketball Magazine will be held at 29 Degree Tavern - which is located on the corner of I-30 and Hulen at 4701 West Freeway in Fort Worth. Dougherty begins his sixth season as head men's basketball coach for the Horned Frogs and has the Purple and White off to an 8-6 record during the 2007-08 campaign. The Frogs have had a standout season defensively as they are ranked fourth in the nation in steals per game and first in the Mountain West Conference in that statistical category. The Purple and White has posted an 8-1 overall record at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum where they have won nine of their last 10 home contests. Mittie begins his ninth season as head women's basketball coach for the Purple and White where he has led the Frogs to seven consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament. During his tenure at the helm, the Frogs have become only one of 12 teams in the country that have recorded seven straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament despite competing in three different conferences during that span. This season, Mittie has the Frogs off to a 7-7 record, including a 7-2 record at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Dougherty will tip-off the radio show from 7:00 to 7:30 before handing over the airwaves to Mittie, who can be heard from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. The faithful of the Frogs can listen via KTCU (88.7 FM) and a replay of the radio show can be heard on Saturdays at 12:00 p.m. on ESPN Radio (103.3 FM). The TCU Basketball Magazine can be heard every Thursday, except for February 14th, and fans are encouraged to come to 29 Degree Tavern to meet and greet the head coaches of the men's and women's basketball programs.
