TCU (6-5) tips off its second season in Conference USA on Wednesday night against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (7-4). The all-time series between the C-USA National Division members is knotted at one game apiece. Southern Miss won the last meeting between the schools, 81-68, in Hattiesburg on Feb. 23, 2002. Earlier in the 2001-02 season, the Frogs claimed a 75-61 victory over the Golden Eagles on Jan. 26 in Fort Worth. TCU was picked to place fourth in the seven-team National Division according to the preseason coaches' poll, while Southern Miss was tabbed to finish sixth.
