TCU Defeated By No. 20 Tulsa, 78-65

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Jason Parker had 25 points and seven assists to lead No. 20 Tulsa to a 78-65 victory over TCU on Monday night.
The Golden Hurricane (7-1) scored the game's first 11 points and the Horned Frogs (4-5) never got closer than four, although Tulsa could not put the game away until the final moments.
Tulsa led 69-63 before Parker hit a 3-pointer with 1:41 left and added two free throws 20 seconds later to break the game open.
Dante Swanson added 15 points for Tulsa, which won its third straight, while Kevin Johnson and Jarius Glenn each had 11. Johnson also had 10 rebounds.
Parker, a junior guard, had 16 points in the first half as Tulsa took a 38-27 lead.
The Golden Hurricane boosted that margin to 50-36 with 17:02 left. Marqus Ledoux, who did not score in the first half, contributed seven points during the 12-9 run.
But over the next six minutes, TCU outscored Tulsa 16-6 to reduce its deficit to 56-52. The Golden Hurricane then countered with a 7-1 run.
TCU, however, would not go away, responding with six straight points to move within 63-59 with 6:57 remaining.
Neither team scored again until Swanson hit a 3-pointer at 4:27. Swanson added a layup at 3:16, but Blount answered with a 3 and a free throw to cut it to 68-63 at 2:51.
The Horned Frogs, however, could not get any closer as they went down to their third consecutive loss.
TCU shot 33 percent from the field and was just 19-of-32 from the free throw line. Tulsa shot 47 percent from the field and was 15-of-27 from the line.
It was the first meeting for the teams, who were once Western Athletic
Conference rivals, since TCU moved to Conference USA after the 2000-01 season.
