Box Score

The TCU men's basketball team downed Wichita State, 57-48, on Monday night at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum to earn its sixth consecutive victory. The Horned Frogs improved their record to 7-3 with the triumph over the Shockers with 3,267 people in attendance.

The Frogs held the Shockers to 48 points, which was the fifth straight game in which an opponent has failed to score more than 52 points on the TCU defense. The six-game winning streak also matched the longest streak for the Frogs since the 1998-99 campaign when TCU collected eight consecutive wins.

TCU was first on the scoreboard after Edvinas Ruzgas (Vilnius, Lithuania | Weatherford College) drilled a pair of three-pointers in the first 2:48 of play giving the Frogs a 6-2 lead over Wichita State. Ruzgas added 16 points for the Frogs after connecting on a perfect 4-of-4 from behind the three-point arc. All four of Ruzgas' three-pointers came in the first 7:10 of the game to lead the Frogs.

The Frogs' lead extended to 24-12 at the following a three-pointer by Zvonko Buljan (Split, Croatia | Vincennes University) and allowed the Purple and White to enjoy their biggest lead of the game. Buljan led the Frogs with his second double-double in the last three games after the TCU forward collected 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds for the Frogs. He also connected on 7-of-9 shooting from the field - including 3-of-3 from behind the three-point arc - in 28 minutes of action.

TCU ended the first half with a 29-22 advantage over Wichita State after shooting 10-of-25 (40.0 percent) - including 6-of-9 (66.7 percent) from beyond the three-point arc.

In the second half of action, Buljan connected on an early trey at the 18:20 mark to give TCU a 32-26 advantage and a few minutes later, Ronnie Moss (Fort Worth, Texas | Christian Life Academy) connected on a lay-in and free throw to up the Frogs' lead to 39-30 with 13:01 left in the game.

The Shockers got to within five points of the lead at 46-41 with 6:10 remaining in the game, but the Frogs outscored the visiting team by an 11-7 margin over the final four minutes en route to securing the 57-48 victory.

Kevin Langford (Fort Worth, Texas | University of California) finished with 11 points and six rebounds while Jason Ebie (Houston, Texas | Alief Elsik H.S.) finished with eight points to go along with four rebounds and four assists in 31 minutes of action.

The Frogs will return to action on Wednesday (Dec. 10) when TCU travels to Bloomington, Ind., to square-off against Indiana. Game time is 7:00 p.m. central time.
