FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs opened the season 2-0 for the first time since 2001-02 and for just the third time in the past seven years following a 74-60 victory over the Shawnee State Bears on Sunday night at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. The game was the first of four for the Frogs as part of the Corpus Christi Challenge.

The Bears were able to score just one basket in the final 5:56 of the first stanza and never threatened the rest of the way. TCU led by as many as 23 in the contest. An 8-0 run by Shawnee late in the second half cut the Frogs' lead to 12, 70-58, with 3:15 remaining. TCU enjoyed a double-digit lead for the final 23:43 of the game.

Junior transfer Judson Stubbs registered a team-high 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting and dragged down six rebounds. Stubbs has reached double figures in each of his first two games in a Horned Frog uniform. Fellow junior transfer Nile Murry had 11 points, while senior Corey Santee chipped in 10

TCU outscored Shawnee State 25-2 on fast break points and outrebounded the Bears by a 53-36 count. The Horned Frog bench held a 38-10 scoring advantage over their Shawnee State counterparts.
