Final Stats

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Nile Murry scored TCU's final seven points in the last 1:43 as part of a 15-point scoring effort in the Horned Frogs' 69-65 nationally-televised victory over Utah Wednesday night at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas.

Murry and fellow Horned Frog seniors Chudi Chinweze, David Markley and Judson Stubbs were honored in a pre-game ceremony as they played in their final home game.

TCU avenged an 80-45 defeat to Utah on Jan. 28 in Salt Lake City. The Frogs also improved to 4-0 in Senior Night games under coach Neil Dougherty. TCU is 11-1 in its last 12 Senior Nights dating back to the 1994-95 campaign.

Chinweze had 16 points and a game-high seven rebounds. Stubbs had 15 points and four boards, while Brent Hackett added 10 points to give TCU four players in double figures.

With TCU leading 62-60, Chinweze grabbed a pair of offensive rebounds to maintain a possession that resulted in two Murry free-throws to extend the Frogs' margin to 64-60 with 1:43 remaining.

Following a steal by Neiman Owens, a Murry fast-break layup off an assist by Femi Ibikunle gave TCU a 66-60 lead. Utah's Johnnie Bryant then hit his fifth 3-pointer of the night to trim the Utes' deficit to 66-63 with 1:07 remaining.

Murry made 1-of-2 free-throws with 26.2 seconds to play to extend the Frogs' lead to 67-63.

After Bryant missed a jumper on the ensuing possession, Ibikunle was fouled after grabbing the rebound. After Ibikunle missed both free-throws, the Utes' Bryant Markson hit a jumper with 3.0 seconds left to pull Utah within 67-65.

Murry was fouled with 1.6 seconds left and sank a pair of free-throws to provide the final margin.

The entire game did not see more than a six-point differential between the teams.

Markley, a walk-on, nailed a 3-pointer 1:34 into the contest for his first collegiate trey. It gave TCU a 5-2 lead.

The Utes led by as many as six points early before a 14-4 TCU run, keyed by five different players scoring, gave the Frogs a 23-19 advantage with 8:37 left in the first half. Chinweze began and closed the spurt with a pair of baskets.

TCU led 30-27 after a tip-in by Hackett before Utah went on a 7-2 run to end the half and lead 34-32 at the intermission. The Frogs closed within a bucket on a tip-in by Chinweze just before the halftime buzzer.

Utah (12-14, 5-10) shot 62.5 percent in the first half and finished at 54.3 for the game. TCU (6-23, 2-13) hit 44.4 percent of its field-goal attempts on the night.

The Frogs scored 21 points off 17 Ute turnovers. TCU committed just 10 turnovers. The Frog bench outscored the Utah reserves 20-8.
