FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Tony Johnson hit a jumper with 21.6 seconds left in overtime and UAB added an insurance free throw to defeat TCU 88-85 Tuesday night.

A half-court attempt by TCU's Junior Blount at the buzzer missed the mark.

Eric Bush and Morris Finley each scored 19 points to lead UAB (14-8, 6-5 Conference USA).

UAB went on a 14-0 scoring run in the first half to take a 27-18 lead. At the half, UAB led 39-30. TCU used a 14-0 run to start the second half to tie the game at 44-44.

Jeffrey Collins hit a 3-pointer with 15.7 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 76-76 and force overtime.

Chudi Chinweze led TCU (8-16, 2-10) with a career-high 28 points and 13 rebounds.

Blount finished with 20 points, becoming the 26th TCU player to reach the 1,000-point mark.
