Horned Frogs Fall To Bulls, 88-74
Feb 16, 2002
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Reggie Kohn scored a career-high 30 points and had 10 rebounds as South Florida beat TCU 88-74 Saturday night, snapping the Horned Frogs' three-game winning streak.
The Bulls (17-8, 7-5 Conference USA) never trailed after Kohn hit the first of his eight 3-pointers for the opening basket.
TCU (14-13, 4-9) tied the score only once, when Junior Blount's basket made it 7-7. South Florida then responded with a 15-2 run - started by three straight 3-pointers by three different players - and led 22-9 on Kohn's driving layup.
South Florida maintained a double-digit lead for most of the rest of the game, including 45-31 at halftime.
When the teams played in January, South Florida won 117-108 in a game that set the conference record for most points. Kohn scored just two points that day.
B.B. Waldon, who had 37 points in the first meeting, added 11 points and 13 rebounds for the Bulls, who shot 54 percent (32-of-59). Mike Bernard had 10 points.
After South Florida scored the first four points of the second half, TCU never got closer than nine. And that was on Blount's two free throws with 32 seconds left that made it 83-74.
The Bulls led by as many as 23.
