AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Jacob Burtschi had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead Air Force to a 75-49 win over visiting TCU on Saturday afternoon.
The win helped the Falcons (15-2, 3-1 Mountain West Conference) rebound from a 55-50 loss at Wyoming three days earlier, a loss that ended their 12-game winning streak.
Burtschi scored in double figures for the eighth straight game and was one of five Falcons to finish with at least 10 points. Sophomore guard Tim Anderson had a team-high 15 points for Air Force.
The Falcons shot 58 percent from the field, including a season-best 54.5 percent from 3-point range. Air Force hit 21-of-26 free throws and out-rebounded the Horned Frogs (4-13, 0-3) 28-20.
Antoine Hood had 13 points for the Falcons, and Dan Nwaelele and Matt McCraw chipped in 11 apiece as Air Force improved to 11-0 at Clune Arena.
Air Force's top-ranked scoring defense held TCU to 33 percent shooting from the field and 29 percent from 3-point range. The Falcons have now held eight of their first 17 opponents to less than 50 points.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair for the first 14 minutes, with the lead changing hands five times. TCU took a 21-20 lead with 6:18 remaining, but the Falcons closed the half with a 14-2 run to take a 34-23 lead into the locker room. McCray's two 3-pointers sparked the run that put Air Force ahead for good.
TCU, which has lost five games by six points or less, was led by Judson Stubbs' nine points.
