A 6-5, 203-pound guard, Zeigler competed this past season at Pittsburgh after spending his first two college campaigns playing at Central Michigan for father Ernie Zeigler, who was the Chippewas' head coach from 2006-12 ... a strong, explosive scorer, Zeigler has totaled nearly 1,150 career points and 450 rebounds in his three college seasons ... Zeigler played last season for Pitt, appearing in 31 games while helping the Panthers post a 24-9 overall record and NCAA Tournament appearance ... he led the squad twice in scoring, including his top season effort of 18 points during a 93-55 home win over DePaul on Jan. 26 ...
2010-12 | Central Michigan
A native of Detroit, Mich., Zeigler starred for Central Michigan during his first two college seasons from 2010 through 2012, earning All-Mid America Conference honors both years ... he became the first Chippewa to join the school's 1,000-point club before the end of his sophomore season while averaging 16.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game during his two years on campus ... his freshman campaign saw him finish second in voting for the MAC Freshman of the Year award while averaging a team-high 16.3 points, which ranked No. 3 nationally among freshmen.
Zeigler was a consensus top-30 national recruit out of Mount Pleasant (Mich.) High School that became the highest-rated prep player ever to sign a National Letter of Intent with a MAC school in 2010 ... he finished runner-up in voting for Michigan "Mr. Basketball" voting as a senior in addition to being named a third-team All-American ... among the schools he received scholarship offers from were Michigan, Michigan State, Duke, UCLA and Arizona State.
