A local talent out of Southwest High School, Tauscher earned first team all-state as well as first team all-region laurels during his senior campaign... selected as the District 8-4A Defensive Player of the Year en route to earning all-district accolades in each of his final two campaigns... concluded his final season at Southwest High School by averaging 14.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 7.0 blocked shots per game en route to being award with team Most Valuable Player honors... ranked as the 22nd best senior prospect by Mike Kunstadt's TexasHoops.com during his pre-season rankings... rated as the 41st top recruit in the State of Texas by TexasHoops.com following his senior campaign... cited on the Texas pre-season McDonald's All-American candidates' list... attended the same high school as TCU senior Brent Hackett.
