2006-07 [Junior Season]
Owens enjoyed a tremendous season during his junior campaign as he set several career-highs including field goals made (75), field goal percentage (.500), free throws made (34), free throw attempts (59), rebounds (177), rebounds per game (5.9), total points (191) and scoring average (6.4)... ranked second on the team in field goal percentage, rebounds, rebounds per game, third in assists and steals and fifth in total points and scoring average... ranked fifth in the Mountain West Conference in rebounds per game in conference action and 12th overall in that category... recorded his first career double-double (points-rebounds) against Colorado State (Feb. 13) with a 14-point, 11-rebound performance... scored in double figures on five occasions, including a career-high 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting against San Diego State (Jan. 31) to go along with six rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes of action... notched his first double-digit scoring performance of the season with 14 points on 6-of-6 shooting and seven rebounds against St. Mary's (CA) (Nov. 21)... recoded at least seven rebounds in five of the final seven games of the season... scored 13 points to go along with eight rebounds against Wyoming (Feb. 28)... led the Horned Frogs with 11 points, seven rebounds and a career-high six assists against Texas Tech (Nov. 29)... celebrated his 21st-birthday with a nine-point, nine-rebound performance against UNLV (Feb. 7).

2005-06 [Sophomore Season]
Owens appeared in all 31 games during his sophomore campaign, including 30 trips to the starting lineup with his only non-starting performance occurring on Senior Night at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum... averaged 4.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game en route to appearing in 25.3 minutes per evening in his second season with the squad... ranked second on the Horned Frogs in steals (31) and third in assists (61)... led the team in assists on eight occasions... scored 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting, including 3-of-3 from behind the three-point line, against BYU (Feb. 10)... scored 11 points in large part to connecting on 6-of-10 attempts from the free throw line to go along with seven rebounds in the following game against Colorado State (Feb. 13)... dished out a season-high five assists in TCU's victory over Utah (Mar. 1)... recorded eight points against Tarleton State (Nov. 19) in his first collegiate start... averaged 7.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists over the final nine games of the season... dished out five assists against NCAA Tournament-bound team Air Force (Feb. 15).

2004-05 [Freshman Season]
In his rookie season with the Horned Frogs, Owens appeared in 32 of 35 games en route to averaging 1.5 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game in 8.1 minutes of action per evening... recorded a season-high five points in five minutes of playing time against Houston (Jan. 19)... scored in five of his last seven games on 5-of-8 shooting from the field... recorded key baskets in National Invitation Tournament triumphs over Miami (OH) (Mar. 15) and Western Michigan (Mar. 21)... dished out a career-high six assists against Maryland-Eastern Shore (Dec. 21)... recorded five rebounds and three steals in his collegiate debut against University of Texas-Arlington (Nov. 19)... drained a three-pointer against second-ranked University of Kansas (Dec. 9)... notched a season-high five points on three occasions against Houston (Jan. 19), Vanderbilt (Dec. 18) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Dec. 22).

A product of Channelview High School, Owens averaged 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game en route to earning first team All-Greater Houston accolades by the Houston Chronicle during his senior campaign... earned first team all-region laurels by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC)... selected as the Tri-Most Valuable Player for District 32-4A... regarded as one of the top 25 prospects in the Class of 2004 in the State of Texas... ranked 21st overall in the state by the Texas Prep Report... listed 23rd among all players in the State of Texas by Texas Roundball... rated 30th nationally among shooting guards in the 2004 recruiting class by Hoopmasters.com... ranked among the nation's top 200 players according to Hoopsmasters.com, which is run by recruiting gurus Van Coleman and Bob Gibbons... rated the fifth-best high school shooting guard based on college potential and camp performance at the 2003 adidas ABCD Camp... averaged 13.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 5.0 steals per game during his junior campaign for Channelview High School... earned first team all-district honors during his junior season and was selected as the Falcons' Most Co-Most Valuable Player in his final two seasons... earned four letters during his prep career at Channelview High School... named to the Team USA roster during the 2004 Global Games... played for the Houston SuperStars during his AAU career.
