2006-07 [Freshman Season]
Mitchem appeared in 15 games during his freshman season with the Horned Frogs where he averaged 5.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game... recorded a trio of double-digit scoring performances in his rookie season, including a 11-point game against the University of Texas-Arlington (Nov. 18)... scored a career-high 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 3-of-5 from behind the three-point line, against Tulane (Dec. 9)... scored 11 points, including 5-of-6 at the charity stripe, while playing a career-high 25 minutes against Grambling State (Nov. 24)... saw 10 minutes of court action against Centenary (Nov. 11) in his collegiate debut... scored eight points on 3-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-5 from behind the three-point line, against Stephen F. Austin (Nov. 14)... recorded a career-high four steals against St. Mary's, CA (Nov. 21).
High School
The product of Rochester East High School was selected to the All-Greater Rochester Super 15 Boys' Basketball Team... tabbed as a City-Catholic all-star guard in each of his four seasons... selected as the City-Catholic Player of the Year as well as team Most Valuable Player during his senior campaign... guided Rochester East High School to a pair of Section V crowns to go along with a trio of City-Catholic League championships... averaged 25.0 points, 8.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game during his senior season... concluded his prep career with 1,162 career points as well as over 700 assists, 400 rebounds and 300 steals as a four-year starter for Rochester East High School... recorded a career-best 42 points against Rush-Henrietta during his senior campaign.
