Position:
Director of Basketball Operations | 3rd Season

Alma Mater:
Northeastern State | 2006

Cody Hopkins completed three seasons as TCU's Director of Basketball Operations after joining former head coach Jim Christian's staff prior to the 2009-10 season.

In his role, Hopkins was responsible for the program's overall budget, travel arrangements, summer camps and clinics in addition to the program's video exchange program.

A native of Dallas, Hopkins returned home to the DFW Metroplex after spending the previous two seasons at Indian Hills Community College. He helped the Warriors post a 30-3 overall record during the 2008-09 campaign, including a top NJCAA ranking at the start of the season. In Hopkins two seasons with the Warriors, the squad posted a 58-13 overall record.

During his time at Indian Hills, Hopkins was responsible for recruiting, academic monitoring, scouting, game preparation and skill development in addition to his on-court coaching assignments. In his final season with the Warriors, Hopkins played a role in the development of two All-Americans in Dwight Buycks and Dwight Hardy, while a total of six players earned all-region accolades.

Hopkins joined Indian Hills Community College after spending one season at Angelo State, where he was an assistant working under head coach Fred Rike. He simultaneously coached for the second-ranked AAU Team in the nation, Team Texas. Hopkins has served numerous times as a guest coach at camps at Texas, Kentucky, Kansas, Texas A&M and UT San Antonio, as well as the prestigious Kobe Bryant Skills Academy.

Hopkins was a two-year starter at Northern Oklahoma, where he averaged 12.0 points per game while connecting on 42.0 percent of his 3-point field goal attempts. An all-conference selection as a sophomore, he spent one year at Centenary College before finishing up his playing carer at Northeastern State.

At Northeastern State, Hopkins was among the team leaders in points, rebounds and assist-to-turnover ratio, as well as free-throw and 3-point field goal percentage. During his high school career, Hopkins earned All-America honors and captured gold medal laurels at the National 3-Point Shooting Championships.

Hopkins earned his associate's degree from Northern Oklahoma College and his bachelor's degree from Northeastern State in 2006. He boasts strong coaching bloodlines, as his father, Jerry, served stints as the head coach at both Sam Houston State and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
