Fort Worth, Texas - TCU pitcher Ryan Weems was picked up by the Fort Worth Cats, becoming the third Horned Frog to move to the professional level this season. Weems has made two appearances for the Cats since joining the team. He is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 3.1 innings of hitless relief to go along with five strikeouts.

Weems played three seasons for the Horned Frogs, compiling a 10-8 record. He appeared in 61 games, starting 15 in his career. He struck out 110 batters in 142.1 innings pitched. He finished his career with a 5.31 ERA. He was named to the Conference USA All-Tournament team this season after pitching his only career complete game to help the Frogs stave off elimination as they went on to win the Conference USA Tournament.

Joining Weems in professional baseball are Eugene Espineli and Clayton Jerome. Espineli was selected in the 14th round by the San Francisco Giants and Jerome was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 41st round of the Major League Draft.
