FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frogs' quest for their third straight MWC Tournament title begins Wednesday night at Lupton Stadium beginning at 7 p.m. By virtue of No. 6 UNLV's upset of No. 3 San Diego State, the Rebels advanced to the night game against the Frogs. Day two of the Phillips 66 MWC Baseball Championships begins with an elimination game, pitting BYU against San Diego State, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
TCU NOTABLES
After finishing the month of April with a 16-4 mark, the Frogs are in the midst of a 10-game winning streak to open the month of May.
The Frogs moved up three spot in the national poll to No. 21 in the Baseball America poll earlier this week, while also debuting at No. 26 in Collegiate Baseball.
The Frogs earned eight all-conference nods Friday night, with Clint Arnold repeating on the first team.
At one point, the Frogs were 14-12, since, they have gone 25-4 to improve to 39-16.
LUPTON STADIUM NOTES
The Frogs own a record of 134-47 in the five-year history of the stadium.
The Frogs set a single-game attendance record against Texas A&M. A record 4,294 fans watched the game.
TCU is 113-38 at Lupton under Coach Schlossnagle.
TCU TOURNAMENT NOTABLES
The Frogs enter the tournament having won 14 straight conference tourney games dating back to the 2004 conference tournament.
TCU is in search of its fifth straight tournament crown and its third consecutive MWC crown.
In 15 tournament games under Schlossnagle, the Frogs are hitting .349 (188-for-538) as a team.
TCU is 6-0 in the MWC tournament since joining in 2006.
The Frogs are hosting the baseball tournament in school history.
