FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU right fielder Chris Ellington was tabbed the Mountain West Conference Player of the Week for his efforts in the Horned Frogs' sweep of New Mexico this past week. The honor is the second of the season for the junior and the third overall for TCU in 2008.

Ellington, from Weatherford, Texas, batted .563 (9-for-16) at the plate with one home run, two doubles, nine RBI and four runs scored in the Horned Frogs' three-game sweep of New Mexico last weekend in Albuquerque. In game one, Ellington's first inning RBI double gave TCU a 1-0 lead on the way to an 8-3 win. In game two, he went 4-for-5 with a home run, tying a career-high with six RBI and four runs scored as TCU clinched the regular-season title in the 14-11 victory. In the series finale, Ellington went 4-for-6 with two RBI and two runs scored as the Horned Frogs completed the series sweep with a 13-4 win.

The junior earned Player of the Week honors on April 7, while freshman pitcher Greg Holle garnered recognition on March 10.
