TCU will look to keep the momentum going in the right direction when they host Air Force in a three game series slated to begin Friday night at Lupton Stadium. The Frogs have won two straight, including a big Tuesday night win over No. 29 Baylor on national television. First pitch Friday is set for 6:30 p.m. The series continues Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes Sunday at 1 p.m.
TCU is off to a 2-0 start to this week, defeating No. 29 Baylor at home on Tuesday and coming back to defeat Texas State, 12-8, on the road.
The Frogs' offense has hit .319 this week with nine extra base hits and five stolen bases.
Chris Ellington homered twice and Jimmie Pharr once in the win over Texas State.
On the mound, the pitching staff posted a 5.00 ERA with 18 strikeouts and only six walks.
LUPTON STADIUM NOTES
The Frogs own a record of 122-45 in the five-year history of the stadium.
The Frogs' tallied the series attendance record against Cal State Fullerton as 7,486 fans passed through the turnstiles.
TCU is 101-36 at Lupton under Coach Schlossnagle.
AIR FORCE NOTABLES
The Falcons are coming off a split with Doane this week.
They enter the weekend 0-5 in conference play with losses to Utah (2) and BYU (3).
Matt Alexander is the leading hitter at .333 with five home runs and 32 RBI.
On the mound, the Falcons have posted a 7.58 ERA with 147 strikeouts.
SERIES BASE KNOCKS
TCU and Air Force will be meeting for the 17th time on Friday night.
The Frogs own a 15-1 record against the Falcons.
TCU is 9-0 against Air Force since joining the Mountain West, winning five games a year ago.
Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle is 19-3 all-time against Air Force.
