FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU Horned Frog baseball team will begin defense of their back-to-back Mountain West Conference titles Thursday night in the opening of a three-game series against New Mexico. Game times Thursday and Friday are set for 6:30 p.m. with the series finale on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
TCU NOTABLES
• TCU went 2-3 last week, including a series sweep of Prairie View A&M at home before dropping three at Wichita State.
• The Frogs' offense continues to struggle as they hit just .261 as a team with seven extra-base hits.
• Steve Ellington and Bryan Kervin were the hottest Frog hitters, with Kervin racking up five RBIs on the week.
• Pitching remains the strength as they posted a 2.36 ERA and fanned 38 batters.
• Opponents hit just .204 off of the staff with only four extra base hits.
LUPTON STADIUM NOTES
• The Frogs own a record of 118-43 in the five-year history of the stadium.
• The Frogs' tallied the series attendance record against Cal State Fullerton as 7,486 fans passed through the turnstiles.

NEW MEXICO NOTABLES
• New Mexico enters the weekend carrying a three-game winning streak.
• The Lobos opened conference play last weekend against UNLV and lost two-of-three at home.
• New Mexico is averaging 7.7 runs per game and is led offensively by newcomer Rafeal Neda's .394 average.
• On the mound, the Lobos have posted a 5.93 ERA with 128 strikeouts.

• TCU and New Mexcio will meet for the 29th time in school history on Thursday.
