Holaday Named MWC Hitter of the Week

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU baseball senior catcher Bryan Holaday has been named MWC Hitter of the Week. The honor is the second for the Horned Frogs this season and the second of his career.
Holaday, from Dallas, Texas, batted .588 (10-of-17) with two doubles, one triple, three runs scored and four RBI as the Horned Frogs went 3-1 last week, including a 2-1 mark in the Houston College Classic.
In a 17-12 win over UT San Antonio, Holaday went 3-for-4, driving in two runs and scoring two more.
At the Houston College Classic, Holaday opened with a 2-for-5 effort in an 11-2 win over Texas Tech, hitting a double and a triple while scoring one run. In a 4-3 victory against Missouri, Holaday went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. In a 5-4 loss to No. 9 Rice, Holaday drove in one run as part of a 2-for-4 effort at the plate. At the conclusion of the tournament, Holaday was named MVP of the Houston College Classic.
For the week, Holaday posted a .650 on-base percentage and a .824 slugging percentage, while tallying 33 putouts and seven assists from his catcher's position with no errors defensively.
The honor is the second straight for TCU as Jason Coats was named Hitter of the Week on March 1.
