White Earns Big 12 Accolades

FORT WORTH - TCU freshman Boomer White was selected as the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performance in the Horned Frogs' series win at Jacksonville. The honor is the first for the Frogs this season.
White played in three games and started two as the Horned Frogs picked up their first series win of the season. The freshman hit .625 (5-for-8) with four runs scored. Of his five hits, three were doubles and one was a home run. He also posted a slugging percentage of 1.375 and an on-base percentage of .667.
In the series opener, White came on as a pinch-hitter and delivered a single. In Saturday's contest, he started as the designated hitter, collecting a double and his first career home run, which gave TCU a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. In the series finale, he doubled and scored the first run of the game before doubling again in his next at-bat.
TCU opens a nine-game homestand on Tuesday night against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
