FORT WORTH, Texas - The seventh annual TCU Baseball First Pitch Banquet will be held on Friday, February 5 in the Brown Lupton University Union on the TCU campus. Former Texas Ranger and New York Mets manager and current ESPN personality, Bobby Valentine, will be the featured guest along with the 2010 TCU Baseball team.

After a stint coaching in Japan, Valentine returned to the big leagues to manage the Mets. While there, he amassed a record of 536-467 over the course of seven seasons. He guided the Mets to a World Series appearance in 2000, losing to the New York Yankees. Valentine currently serves as an analyst on ESPN's Baseball Tonight

"This is our signature event of the year that provides support to our program and is always a great time for everyone in attendance," said head coach Jim Schlossnagle. "I am very grateful to have Bobby Valentine as our guest. He is one of the games great ambassadors worldwide and has remained a promoter of our sport in the Metroplex as well."

The banquet will be held in the 3rd floor ballroom of the BLUU, with a silent auction and reception beginning at 6:15pm and dinner to follow at 7pm. Cost for the event is $100 per seat or a table of 10 for $1000. Dress for the event calls for business attire.
