HOUSTON -- TCU baseball was only able to muster one hit off Houston starter Brad Sullivan, spoiling an three-hit performance from Horned Frog starter Clayton Jerome (Mesquite, Texas/Poteet), as the Frogs fell 2-0 to No. 10 Houston Thursday night at Cougar Field. With the loss, TCU (29-25, 19-9 C-USA) fell a game-and-a-half behind Conference USA-leading Houston (39-14, 20-7 C-USA) with just two games left in the regular season.

Jerome was excellent for the Frogs, allowing just a solo home run to UH's Jesse Crain in the fifth inning and a pair of infield singles in the sixth, but fell to 9-4 on the season with the tough-luck loss.

Houston added an unearned run in the sixth to cushion its lead to 2-0.

However, Sullivan was just too tough on this evening, as he upped his overall record to 10-1. The only hit the sophomore allowed was a second-inning single to right center field by TCU third baseman Mike Settle (Fort Worth, Texas/Country Day).

The Frogs were able to draw three leadoff walks from the right-hander, but all three frames ended in 5-4-3 double plays, thwarting the TCU threats.

With the setback, TCU must take the last two games of its three-game series with Houston and hope for at least one loss by second-place Louisville at East Carolina to claim a share of the Conference USA regular-season title. Game two between TCU and Houston will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Cougar Field.
