Mike Settle returns to Horned Frog baseball, this time in the role of coach. A four-year player for the Frogs from 2000-03, Settle was a key member in the Frogs' successes the last three seasons.
Settle, a Fort Worth native, was a three-year starter for TCU and finished his career as a .318 hitter. Through the course of his career, Settle played in 177 games, racked up 210 hits, including 48 doubles, four triples and 18 homeruns, while driving in 150 runs. His 48 career doubles ranks him second all-time in the TCU history book. He also is one of six Frogs to have hit three doubles in one game, accomplishing the feat against Southeastern Louisiana on Feb. 16, 2003.
For his outstanding play, Settle was honored with a first-team all-WAC selection his sophomore season and wrapped up his career with first-team accolades from Conference USA in 2003. He was also named C-USA Co-Hitter of the Week on Feb. 17, 2003.
"I'm really happy to be on the staff," said Settle. "I'm excited to get this opportunity to work with such a great staff."
Settle will return to school next fall to finish his degree in psychology. He resides in Fort Worth.
