Spent the summer pitching in the prestigious Cape Cod League for the Falmouth Commodores... finished with a 2-2 record spanning 11 appearances... made six starts... had a 4.46 ERA in 34.1 innings pitched... struck out 45 batters while walking only 16.

2005 (Freshman):
Made 20 appearances and 12 starts on the mound... compiled a 5-5 record with a 4.64 ERA in 95.0 innings... ranked second on the squad with 100 strikeouts... held opponents to a .264 batting average... first appearance came against Utah... pitched the first two innings on Saturday before a rain delay and returned Sunday to pitch three more innings... surrendered four runs on eight hits and struck out five in the no-decision... suffered a tough-luck 3-1 loss at Fla. Atlantic on Feb. 19... gave up three runs (two earned) on three hits in five innings, with seven punch outs... earned first career win with a seven-inning performance against Dallas Baptist on Feb. 26... allowed just two earned runs on six hits and struck out seven... moved record to 2-1 with a dominating performance against Manhattan on March 5... struck out eight Jaspers and allowed just one run... had a rough outing against No. 5 Rice, suffering his second loss of the season... struck out a career-high 11 batters against Southern Miss on March 20 in a no-decision... after a rough outing at Saint Louis was moved to the bullpen... pitched 3.2 innings of relief over two appearances against East Carolina... earned his first career save in a 7-3 win over USF on April 9... allowed just two earned runs in 5.1 innings of relief but was tagged with the loss against Oklahoma on April 12... returned to the starting rotation against Memphis on April 17... had two quality midweek starts for the Frogs on April 26 and May 3... went five innings against UTPA, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits... struck out nine UTA hitters in a seven-inning stint to earn win No. 4... returned to the bullpen for three straight appearances... went three scoreless innings against Cincinnati on May 7... tossed six innings and struck out nine against Louisville on May 14... shut down No. 1 Tulane for six innings, striking out six... started the Frogs' opening game of the C-USA Tournament... went the distance, surrendering just two runs on three hits and striking out nine to earn a win against Louisville on May 25... suffered the loss in the Frogs' second game of the Waco Regional against the Bears.

Spring High School:
Drafted in the 35th round of the MLB Draft by Texas ... ranked by Texas Baseball News as the 11th top recruit out of the state of Texas... was an all-district performer as a sophomore... also named team's Most Improved Player as a sophomore... earned all-state honors as a senior... also earned first-team all-Greater Houston and first-team all-district accolades... selected to play in the Houston All-Star game as well as the Area Code Games... broke Josh Beckett's strikeout record, fanning 188 batters... also set school record for wins in a season with 15... represented Texas in the Sunbelt Classic... appeared in the Area Code All-Star game... had a 7-2 record in 69 innings with 77 Ks and a 3.01 ERA as a junior... was 15-2 with a 1.34 ERA in 109 innings pitched as a senior.
