The TCU men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Waco this weekend to participate in the NCAA South Central Regional Championships. The women's 6K race starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday followed by the men's 10K race at 10:15.

The TCU women are coming off a fifth place finish at the Conference USA Championships. They are led by C-USA Freshman of the Year and second team all-conference performer, Alayne Thompson, who placed sixth at the C-USA meet. The women's team is also comprised of freshmen Katie Cosgrove, Heather Isbell and Katrina Zielinski, along with junior Shannon McKinney.

The TCU men will not compete for the team title, as only three Horned Frogs, sophomore Steven Lenney and freshmen Brad Maciulewicz and Case Martinec will compete for the individual title.

"We have a lot of young kids competing in a meet of this magnitude for the first time," said TCU cross country coach Derek Koonts. "This will be a great learning experience for our young team."
