FORT WORTH – TCU’s men’s and women’s cross country teams had 13 student-athletes named to the 2012 Academic All-Big 12 cross country team, the conference announced Tuesday.
Nine members of the Horned Frogs women’s team were named Academic All-Big 12. The first-team honorees were seniors Katie Dalton and Tricia Terry, junior Shannon Speir and sophomores Carlie Brittan, Abby Schafer, Hanna Jane Stradinger, Abby Ter Haar and Rachel Vanlandingham. Senior Agnes Kemboi was named second-team Academic All-Big 12.
Four TCU men’s runners earned the honor. They are sophomores Kevin Case, Andy Kramer, Taylor Moult and Mason Richards.
To qualify student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two pervious semesters. Freshmen and transers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years are also eligible.
The Horned Frogs return to action on Saturday at the Big 12 Championships. The women’s 6K starts at 10 a.m. with the men’s 8K event starting at 11 a.m.
