For the second time this fall, TCU freshman Alayne Thompson has been named the Conference USA Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week. Thompson finished fourth at the Texas A&M Invitational, running the 6K course in a time of 21:50 to lead the Frogs to a sixth-place finish in the 21-team field.

Thompson has now finished in the top-five in each of the four fall events. Earlier this season, Thompson was named the C-USA Cross Country Athlete of the week after winning the Sam Houston State Invitational.

"The competition was difficult at Texas A&M," said cross country coach Derek Koonts. "Alayne went up against a couple of older runners from Kenya, and she was able to stay with them the entire race. I think she should be considered one of the top contenders for the Conference USA individual title. "

The Frogs will return to action Saturday, November 2, when they compete in the C-USA Cross Country Championships.
