FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU men's and women's cross country teams will participate in their second event of the season on Saturday, when the squads run in the UTA Invitational in Arlington. The women's race will begin at 8:30 a.m., while the men will start approximately 20 minutes later.

The women's event will consist of a 2-mile course through Vandergriff Park, while the men will run a 4-mile distance. Team totals will be based on each school's top five finishing scores. Among the local teams participating are: Texas-Arlington, North Texas, Dallas Baptist and SMU (women).

"We're going into Saturday both interested and excited," coach Patrick Cunniff said. "It's our first traditional cross country meet of the year, which will give us a chance to sort out who our lead runners are. This race will also get the kids used to head-to-head competition again, and the shorter race length will allow us to be more aggressive in our paces. It's just a great event for us to participate in."
