Late last week, allegations of serious improprieties involving TCU's track and field program surfaced from within the University. TCU immediately initiated an internal investigation into the allegations. Based on the initial findings of the investigation TCU contacted the NCAA and Conference USA.

TCU, in conjunction with the NCAA, has initiated a formal investigation into the allegations, which is on-going. As a result of the investigation to date, the TCU Athletics Department has initiated the required administrative process to terminate Head Track & Field Coach Monte Stratton, Athletics Director Eric Hyman announced today. In addition, associate head coach Brad Bowman has resigned.

The investigation is being conducted by TCU's NCAA compliance office and in conjunction with NCAA enforcement personnel. As always, TCU is cooperating fully with the NCAA to seek a swift resolution of this matter.

"Any allegation of an NCAA violation is very disappointing to me and this university," said Hyman. "Ethical conduct is expected of every staff member, coach, student-athlete and supporter. Falling short of that is unacceptable," added Hyman.

The University will not be able to discuss this case further until the investigation is complete.
