Hodge shows well at the World Championships

OSAKA, Japan - TCU sprinter Virgil Hodge was in competition on Thursday at the IAAF World Championships in Osaka, Japan. Hodge, a St. Kitts native, ran 23.06 in the semifinal heat of the women's 200 meters, but failed to qualify for Friday's final. Overall, Hodge finished in the top-16 of the 200 meters at the World Championships. Hodge, the only female in school history with at least five All-America certificates, won the Female High-Point Award after winning both the 60 and 200 meters at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships last winter. She closed out 2007 earning two All-America honors in the 200 meters and as a member of the 4x100 relay team at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
