Hi Flyin' Frogs,

I came in on Wednesday evening and started to feel the Olympic spirit when I arrived at the airport and saw all the banners and other athletes who were going through customs. It was very difficult to sleep that evening because of the time difference. I ended up going to sleep at 3 a.m. and waking up at 6:30 a.m. With my body feeling tired from lack of sleep, I still found time to go warm up and stretch at the nearby track in the village later that afternoon. After a team meeting, it was announced that I would be carrying the St. Kitts national flag at the opening ceremonies tonight. It is going to be an honor to do such thing. I am going to hold that flag high and proud as I represent St. Kitts and Nevis in my first Olympics.

I'll be back later,

Virgil Hodge
