FORT WORTH, Texas - Incoming track & field athlete Justyn Warner, who signed a National Letter of Intent in April to attend TCU this August, earned a pair of silver medals in sprint events at the Pan American Junior Championships on Sunday in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Warner, a native of Markham, Ontario, Canada, crossed the tape in a time of 10.26 seconds in the 100-meter dash, and was just nipped by the United States' James Samuels (10.20). In addition, Warner added another silver medal by helping the Canadians to a second-place finish in the 4x100 relay. Canada had a time of 40.25 compared to 39.36 by the Unites States' team.
Warner was the National Scholastic indoor champion at 60 meters earlier this year with a time of 6.79 seconds. He owns a best time of 6.74 seconds in the event. He figures to compete in both the 100 and 200 meters for the Flyin' Frogs.
