With an effort of 39.36, the United States' 4x100 relay team cruised to victory over second-place Canada, which carded a time of 40.25. The U.S. team consisted of Wopamo Osaisai, McDaniel, Smith and J-Mee Samuels.
The Pan Am Juniors is a biennial meet for athletes under the age of 20. Athletes became eligible for the U.S. team by finishing first or second at the U.S. Junior Nationals, held in June in Carson, Calif. McDaniel placed second in the 200 at that event, finishing with a time of 20.96 seconds. To see a listing of complete results of the Pan Am Juniors, visit www.dyestat.com.
