FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU head coach Darryl Anderson announced the addition of Ronnie Williams to the Flyin' Frogs track and field coaching staff on Thursday.

"I'm excited about the addition of Ronnie Williams to our staff," said Anderson. "He is very knowledgeable and is a young coach who is a very active and aggressive recruiter. He will help assist me with the sprint program and will do a lot of things within our program that will help us move to the next level, which is what we are trying to do."

Williams comes to TCU from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, where he served the 2008 season as the Cyclones' sprint and hurdles coach. At TCU, Williams will help coach the sprints.

Prior to his arrival in Ames, Williams coached several individuals to All-America honors as an assistant coach at Mesa (Ariz.) Community College.

The California native ran collegiate track and field for the University of Kentucky, earning All-America honors as a Wildcat under Anderson's direction. Williams, who clocked a runner-up performance in the 400 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships in 2000, earned All-America honors in the 200 and both relays. He still ranks in the top-five in school history in both the 200 and 400 meters.

Williams, who earned his bachelor's degree in social work from Kentucky in 1997, is U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Level I and II certified.
