Hodge wins 200 meters at North, Central American and Caribbean Championships

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador - Participating in the inaugural North, Central American and Caribbean Championships at the Flor Blanca National Stadium, TCU sprinter Virgil Hodge placed first overall in the 200 meters and sixth in the 100 meters. Hodge, a native of St. Kitts, ran a 22.73 in the final of the women's 200 to place first. Competing in the final of the women's 100, Hodge ran an 11.63 to place sixth. Hodge advanced to the final of the 200 meters by recording the fastest time in the semifinals. She ran a time of 22.92 in the second semifinal heat. Former TCU sprinters Nathandra John and Delwayne Delaney also competed in El Salvador. John, a three-time All-American, clocked a time of 54.01 to finish fourth overall in the women's 400 meters. In the semifinals, John advanced to the finals by placing second in the second semifinal heat with a time of 53.02. Delaney, a 2006 All-America selection, ran 20.83 in the final of the men's 200 meters to place fourth. In the final of the men's 100, Delaney posted a time of 10.55 to place fifth.
