"By The Numbers" - Charles Silmon TCU star sprinter looking to make Bowerman Semifinalist list

FORT WORTH - A week from today, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) will announce the semifinalist lists for The Bowerman, the most prestigious award given out in college track and field. The lists, which will consist of 10 men and 10 women, recognize the best of the best from the 2013 track and field season.
TCU sprinter Charles Silmon has not made the watch list all year, but had begun to creep into the minds of The Bowerman panel of experts in recent weeks after strong performances at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships and the NCAA West Preliminaries. In the end, the lists become defined by the performances at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Silmon blazed his own path during his victory in the men's 100-meter dash final, winning the fastest 100-meter final in the history of the NCAA Championships.

0 - Number of collegians Charles Silmon lost to in the 100-meter dash during the 2013 outdoor season. The only time Silmon did not finish first in a 100-meter dash was in the Invitational 100 at the Texas Relays, where he finished behind three U.S. Olympians.
0.32 - Amount of time Silmon cut off his personal best in the 200-meter dash at the Big 12 Championships. He came into the conference championships with a PR of 20.65 seconds before taking the mark down to a then-NCAA leading time of 20.33.
