Mile relay teams earn at-large berths to NCAA Outdoor Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas - Both of TCU's men's and women's mile relay teams have earned at-large berths to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, the NCAA announced on Tuesday.

With Tuesday's announcement, TCU will now have all four relay teams and seven individuals compete at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which will be held June 6-9 in Sacramento, Calif.

Coming off a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, TCU's women's mile relay team of Kishelle Paul, Deborah Jones, Brittany Blaylock and Nathandra John qualified as the No. 13 seed with a time of 3:33.37.

The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Clint Renfro, Delwayne Delaney, Raymond Jones and Dell Guy earned a No. 16 seed with a time of 3:07.51. The quartet is fresh off a seventh-place finish at the Midwest Regional on Saturday.

Last season, both of TCU's mile relay teams earned All-America accolades. The men's team of Che Chavez, Delaney, Jackson Langat and Lewis Banda earned a silver medal, and the women's team of Deborah Jones, Marquita Davis, Paul and John placed seventh.

Also earning All-America honors at the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Championships on the women's side was Hodge, who placed seventh in the 200 meters. The men's 4x100 relay placed fourth and Banda finished fourth in the 400 meters.
