Frater Named Academic All-District
May 29, 2003 TCU sprinter Michael Frater has been selected to the 2003 Verizon Academic All-District VI first team for track and field and cross country athletes in the university division, it was announced today. Frater, a junior from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., owns a 3.49 grade point average in political science. The all-America sprinter finished fifth in the 2003 NCAA Indoor Championships at 60 meters. He placed second in the Conference USA 100 meters during the outdoor season with a time of 10.26 seconds, which ranks sixth in the Midwest region. He is listed sixth in the nation on Trackwire's "Dandy Dozen" in the 100 meters. He also ran the anchor leg on TCU's silver medal-winning 4x1 relay at the conference meet. He placed fourth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 100 a year ago and owns the Frogs' fifth-fastest 100 meters in history (10.05).
Frater and the rest of the Flyin' Frogs are in Lincoln, Nebraska this week for the first-ever NCAA Midwest Regional Track & Field meet.
