Flyin' Frogs sign Cleveland prep to National Letter of Intent
May 26, 2007 FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU track and field coach Darryl Anderson announced the signing of Matthew Love to a National Letter of Intent on Saturday. Love, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, is the 15th student-athlete to ink with the Flyin' Frogs for the 2008 season. "I am excited to have Matthew join the program," Anderson said. "We were in need of another quarter-miler and he was a great fit for us." Currently, freshman Dell Guy is TCU's lone 400-meter runner on the men's side. Love, who attends Cleveland Heights High School, is competing this weekend at the Ohio State Track and Field Regionals. On Friday, Love helped Cleveland Heights set a meet and stadium record with a time of 3:14.15 to win the 4x400 relay. Love also finished second in the 400 meters with a time of 47.62 and helped Heights win the 4x800 relay. Love joins a 15-member recruiting class of Amber Anderson of Carrollton, Texas (Carrollton Creekview HS), Edina Brooks of Klein, Texas (Klein HS), Kyericka Cole of Garland, Texas (Garland Naaman Forest HS), Mychal Dungey of Austin, Texas (Austin HS), Stormy Harrison of Cisco, Texas (Cisco HS), Kristal Juarez of Irving, Texas (Irving HS), Andon Mitchell of Grenada (Central Arizona CC), Shaycoya Myers of Tulsa, Okla. (Edison HS), Jeff Pels of Dallas, Texas (Jesuit HS), Jordan Pitts of Greenville, Texas (Greenville HS), La'Quinta Ross of Greenville, Texas (Greenville HS), Meaghan Ryan of Lake Havasu, Ariz. (Central Arizona CC), Shekila Wilkinson of Broken Arrow, Okla. (Broken Arrow HS) and Sean Zurko of Las Vegas, Nev. (Silverado HS). Of the signees, nine are women and six are men.
