FT. WORTH, Texas - After posting a third-place finish, collecting 13 medals and breaking a pair of meet and all-time Mountain West Conference records at the league's outdoor track & field championships two weeks ago, the Flyin' Frog men of the TCU track and field team earned their highest ranking of the 2006 campaign with a ninth-place showing in the latest Trackwire.com Top 25.

"We're pleased to be looked upon as a top 10 team in the country," TCU head track and field coach Darryl Anderson said. "Anytime you're ranked by a national organization or receive votes from your peers, it shows that you're doing something positive with your program."

TCU men opened the outdoor season at 13th, and remained ranked in the top 20 every week except one. The Frog men were ranked throughout the indoor campaign this year with their highest showing (tied for 13th) on January 30.

The Flyin' Frogs will return to the track this week, competing in the NCAA Midwest Regional in Austin, Texas. TCU's sprint core and its young, talented field contingent will head south to battle for a spot in the NCAA Championships in June.

The ranking is also the highest of the outdoor track season, and under head coach Darryl Anderson since he took over the Frog track and field program in 2004.
