Men's track back among Trackwire.com's Top 25

FT. WORTH, Texas - The Flyin' Frog men of the TCU track and field team returned to the Trackwire Top 25 after turning in strong performances at the Penn Relays last week. The TCU men were ranked the first three weeks of the 2006 outdoor season before dropping off the list last week. The Frog men picked up 16 points this week, tying for 17th with USC.

At last week's Penn Relays, TCU received impressive showings in both the individual and team events from its men contingent. The 4x1 team of Bradley Reed, Justyn Warner, Delwayne Delaney and Otis McDaniel ran a season-best 39.89 for a solid third-place finish in the college men 4x100 Championship of America race. In the 4x4, the quartet of Che Chavez, Delaney, Jackson Langat and Lewis Banda set an all-time Mountain West Conference record with a second-place showing of 3:05.45 in the college men 4x400 Championship of America race.

In the men's individual competition, Kip Kangogo was 0.14 second shy of an NCAA regional qualifying mark in the mile run as he completed the race in 4:06.14 for a fourth-place finish, while Justyn Warner posted a 10.52 to take third in his heat in the 100 meters and advance to the finals.

TCU and BYU men (tied for eighth) are the two schools from the Mountain West Conference listed in the top 20.

The Florida State men's squad remains as the top-ranked team, while LSU and UTEP round out as the top three at second and third, respectively.
