TCU sprinter Jerry Harris has been honored as the Conference USA outdoor track & field male Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced today. It's the second week in a row that Harris has been honored by the league office and the third time he's been recognized this year.

Harris, a senior from Alexandria, Virginia, ran a leg on both of TCU's relays at the Penn Relays over the weekend. The 4x100-meter relay claimed the gold with a time of 39.45 to mark the ninth 4x100 title the Horned Frogs have earned since 1986. Harris was also a part of the 4x400 relay team that twice ran under 3:03 with times of 3:02.89 and 3:02.94, the third and fourth fastest times in TCU history. Each relay's times were good enough to qualify for the NCAA regionals.

The TCU Flyin' Frogs men's track & field team climbed one notch to seventh place in the latest Trackwire Top 25 poll, released April 27. The Frogs are expected to tally 29 points at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, which will be held in Austin, Texas, June 9-12. The poll has the following Frogs ranked in the Dandy Dozen in their respective events:

Michael Frater -6th in the 100

Jabari Fields - 9th in the 100

Jabari Fields - 7th in the 200

Jerry Harris - 5th in the 400

Jackson Langat - 5th in the 800

4x100 meter relay - 2nd

4x400 meter relay - 5th

Aundre Edwards - 5th in the long jump

SEC schools dominate the top of the list as Arkansas (62), LSU (51), Florida (41) and Auburn (41) hold the top four spots. Baylor (31) and Arizona State (31) are tied for fifth, just ahead of the Flyin' Frogs. Nebraska (28), SMU (28) and Ohio State (26) round out the top 10.

On the women's side, Mary Kinyanjui is ranked ninth in the 5000 meters and the Frogs' 4x100 meter relay unit is slated to place seventh, earning two points in the team standings.

The Frogs will not compete again until the Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, set for May 13-15 in Louisville, Kentucky.
