Flyin' Frogs bound for historic Penn Relays April 27-29

FT. WORTH, Texas - TCU will be facing several of the nation's elite teams and athletes April 27-29, when the Flyin' Frogs compete at the 112th running of the Penn Relays in Philadephia, Pa. The three-day historic track meet will be hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field. The Frog women will take the track Thursday, April 27, with hurdlers Julie Curtis and Kishelle Paul getting things started first for TCU. The two will run in the college women's 400-meter hurdles "championship" at 9 a.m. Central. TCU women's relay squads will also get in the action Thursday with the 4x100 unit looking to qualify, while the 4x400 unit warms up the baton at 5:30 p.m. CT. On Friday, the Frogs will have five of their own battling for a spot in the men's 100 meters. TCU will also make a showing in the men's 4x400 relay and sprint medley races. Relays continue into Saturday, as well as two Frogs looking ahead into their respective futures. Kip Kangogo will compete in the Olympic Development Men Mile Run, while Calandra Stewart runs in the same event on the women's side. Three of the four sprinters from last year's winning relay team - Deborah Jones, Jamee Jones and Nathandra John - returns to defend its team title when the college women 4x400 "championship" gets underway early Saturday evening. In addition, TCU will send a small field contingent to the Jason's Deli Mean Green Twilight hosted by the University of North Texas on Thursday, April 27.
