FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU track and field team will continue its outdoor slate this weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday and the North Texas Spring Classic on Saturday.

The majority of the team will make the short trip to Denton, Texas, for the North Texas Spring Classic, while just the contingent of distance runners Festus Kigen and Calandra Stewart will compete at the 49th Annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.

TCU enters the weekend in hopes that the weather will cooperate after being limited by cold and rainy conditions during the final day at the Texas Relays. In what was to be the most active day of the Texas Relays, the Frogs were only able to compete in two events due to the unseasonable conditions.

Despite the weather conditions at the Texas Relays, the Frogs still tallied eight regional qualifying marks. Included in TCU's eight qualifying marks were first time marks by Joe Brown (javelin), Meaghan Peoples (400-meter hurdles) and Clint Renfro (400-meter hurdles).

On the season, TCU has totaled 31 NCAA regional qualifying marks, including 21 by the women and 10 by the men. Including both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams, 10 different individuals have earned the 21 regional qualifying marks by the women's team. On the men's side, six different individuals have earned TCU's 10 regional qualifying marks.

TCU's weekend will begin on Friday at the Mt. SAC Relays with Kigen competing in the men's 5000 meters at 7:50 p.m. CT. Stewart will run in the 1500 meters at 9:25 p.m. CT.

Leslie Starnes will open the North Texas Spring Classic for TCU in the pole vault at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. The first event on the track is slated for 12 p.m. with the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. TCU's first event on the track will be the men's 4x100 relay at 12:30 p.m.

Complete results from both meets will be available on gofrogs.com.
