FORT WORTH - TCU athletes Prisela Campbell and Mychal Dungey have been named the TCU Athletes of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.
Campbell, a women's golfer and Dungey, a sprinter on the track team, highlighted their team's performances in the previous week.
Over the weekend at the PING/Arizona State Invitational, Campbell led the Horned Frogs to an eighth-place finish, while wrapping up fourth-place honors on her own. In her final round, Campbell carded four birdies en route to a 1-over-par 73.
In her first and second rounds at the event, the Keller, Texas, native tallied rounds of 71 and 72, respectively. For the week, Campbell wrapped up an even-par mark of 216 and her best finish since a fourth-place showing in her collegiate debut as a freshman.
Dungey ran a personal-best time of 46.59 in the 400 meters. The clocking was good enough to lead all collegiate entries and second overall behind former Frog Lewis Banda (46.54). Dungey also paced the Frogs in the 200 meters, posting a seasonal-best time of 20.92 to earn fourth among collegians.
The Austin, Texas, native was also a member of the Frogs' first-place 4x100 meter squad, joining forces with OJ Stoneham, Charles Silmon and Mark Barnes to clock in at 39.62. The time is the fastest output for the foursome this spring, leads the Mountain West Conference and is sixth nationally.
